Topic: "Digital Dentistry Update: Intraoral Scanner for Daily Restorative Procedures"

Abstract: Digital Dental Technology has progressed rapidly over the last few years. Many clinicians today already utilize the technology to diagnose, treatment plan and prescribe actual treatment. As prosthodontists, we pride ourselves in providing the highest quality of prostheses to restore lost form and function. Therefore, it is important for us to investigate, comprehend, utilize, and educate our dental colleagues about the technology.
Objective: The presentation is intended to generate interests in Digital Dentistry among practitioners. The lecture will be presented from the perspective of utilizing a digital intraoral scanner. Pros and Cons of the traditional prosthodontic workflow versus digital prosthodontic workflow will be discussed. With proper utilization of the intraoral scanner, many daily restorative procedures could become more cost effective and less time consuming. The treatments shown in this presentation encompass simple to complex fixed and removable prosthodontic rehabilitation utilizing intraoral scanner.
